Taking swarm robots out of the lab into the wild

This internally funded project is about building a swarm of small autonomous sailboats.

Main objectives of this project:

  • building our own sailboat hardware platform
  • autonomous sailing and navigation on our lake
  • self-organized coordination of a team of boats
  • task allocation and energy-aware decision-making
  • long-term autonomy
  • towards applications (e.g., from limnology)
